  • A lemon-scented plant from the mint family, lemon balm is used as a culinary herb and fragrant foliage plant. Grows as a perennial in Kansas, although it doesn't always tolerate the hot summer months. Can also be grown in containers and then overwintered in a protected area such as an unheated garage.

    Potted in a 4" container.

    Full sun to part shade. Planting in containers allows you to provide ideal conditions: full sun during the spring and fall months and more shade protection during the height of summer. Indoors: full sun.
    Keep consistently moist but not soggy; approximately every 3 days or so, depending on conditions.
    Tropical soil with added perlite or sandy soil mix
    Not toxic to cats and dogs
