Fennel plants are grown for their anise-like flavor as well as for their feathery foliage and tiny yellow blooms. This herb variety is used for its leaves and seeds, as opposed to fennel that is cultivated for bulbs. Rather tall when mature (3' or so), fennel requires a large pot or container if you intend to grow it indoors or on a patio as its root system grows quickly and it dislikes being transplanted often. Also makes an excellent annual in an outdoor herb garden.
Potted in a 4" container.
Indoors: water when topsoil is dry to the touch; avoid wetting the foliage. Outdoors: keep moist.
