Colorful shrub that features bright bracts in drooping spikes that resemble the shape of shrimp. While often confused for flowers, the "shrimp" are actually leaves that turn bright colors and surround smaller white blooms. Once bracts appear, the plant will continue to bloom for several months and then take a break before blooming again. The leggy stems have been braided into a decorative "trunk" to give the plant a more tree-like form. Approximately 3' at maturity, this plant is relatively easy to overwinter indoors, given enough light.
Potted in a 10" container.
